Big BrainWhat psych people talk about when they talk about psych testing. (Thanks to my PsyD co-worker):

IQ TESTS:
  • "whoopsy" = wppsi (weschler preschool)
  • "whisk-r" (like on a cat) = wisc-r (wisc revision that preceded the wisc-iii, the current one)
  • "wais" = wais
  • stanford-binet = itself
PERSONALITY TESTS:
  • mmpi = mmpi (minnesota multiphasic personality inventory - 500+ questions)
  • "may see" = maci (millon adolescent clinical inventory - shorter)

Psych testing can provide valuable insights to diagnose mental health conditions, assess intellectual capacities, and aid in treatment planning. Professionals such as psychologists, psychiatrists, and clinical social workers (you?) utilize these tests to understand clients better and make informed decisions about care.
